Parietal cell antibodies are found in 70 to 90% patients with Pernicious anemia, 50% individualswith Gastric atrophy without pernicious anmia and upto 15% of unselected adult population. This assay is useful for evaluating patients suspected of having Pernicious anemia or immune meditated deficiency of vitamin B12 with or without Megaloblastic anemia.
